Skeletal architecture

Pultruded carbon femur and tibia, terminated in forged titanium knee and ankle blocks.

Engineering cutaway of the companion's femur, opened lengthwise. A pultruded carbon-fibre cortical shell wraps a central marrow channel lined with blue piezoelectric strain nodes, surrounded by pink electroactive muscle-fibre bundles. Leader lines on the right point to four labelled components.

Pultruded carbon-fibre femur and tibia, hollow-core for stiffness-to-weight, terminated in forged titanium knee and ankle blocks. Bone geometry mirrors the chimpanzee — shorter femur, robust patella, broad calcaneus — for a low centre of mass and a stable knuckle-or-bipedal stance.
